LOSE WEIGHT While You Sleep!! 14 Reasons to Eat This Snack at Night…
How would you like to LOSE WEIGHT while you sleep?
Could dieting be any easier than that?!!
Oh, I can see the cogs in your mind working….
Now, don’t go thinking that this one little “trick” alone will let you lose all of the weight that you need to lose!!
Nooooo.
It’s only one part of the whole “formula”, but it is a good one.
This one little night-time “trick” is an adjunct to a great weight loss approach.
But when the night-time munchies come up, as they often do, you need a great snacking solution to fall back on. And let me tell you…
This is a GREAT NIGHT-TIME snack!!
The sourness of only 2 thin rhubarb slices, the mildly alkaline zucchini slices and beautiful, juicy spring green celery pieces.
A great ALKALIZING night-time SNACK that accomplishes 6 THINGS AT ONCE:
(1) it provides us with something to nibble on that satisfies the mouth and the tongue
(2) it provides our body with something to draw nourishment from throughout the night
(3) this nourishment throughout the night helps with cellular restoration, especially when we are ill to any degree
(4) the alkalinity of these particular vegetables actually MELTS AWAY FAT (i.e., HELPS US LOSE WEIGHT WHILE WE SLEEP ? )
(5) this snack provides important fiber for great colon cleansing—just make sure to drink some water with and/or after this snack so that it can do its’ job most effectively
(BEWARE: fiber without water constipates. Don’t put your rectum and anus through the stress of constipation. Drink at least 8 oz/250 mL of water when you eat fibrous foods.)
9 BENEFITS of Eating Colon Cleansing Vegetables
And now, here are 9 spin-off benefits of eating these and other colon cleansing vegetables:
(1) easy and painless detoxification
(2) greater regularity (bowel movements)
(3) healthier skin
(4) more youthful looking skin
(5) fresher smelling breath (not what you expected to hear, right?!!)
(6) greater mental clarity/clearer thinking (another unexpected benefit, right?!!)
(7) better ability to focus during meditation
(8) better ability to go deeper in meditation
(9) better ability to make connection in meditation
I like this kind of snack. Don’t you??
It’s exactly what you want to when your goal is to lose weight, maintain a healthy weight, or re-build your body during or following illness.
HAPPY SNACKING !!
P.S. A few words of WARNING if you’re not used to eating fiber-rich foods.
(1) Be certain to drink enough water when you eat raw vegetables.
…and HOW MUCH water is enough ? Good question.
Here’s a general rule of thumb: if you have 1 cup worth of raw veggies (like you see in the photo above), then drink at least 1 cup of water.
The only thing that might alter this ratio of 1:1 is if you’re drinking psyllium flakes, in which case you only need 1-2 Tbsps of psyllium to approx. 2 cups of water.
(2) Start with a small quantity and eat your raw vegetables DURING THE DAYTIME.
Get your stomach and colon used to “processing” this type of food, i.e., that has more fiber than you’re used to.
…and remember to DRINK YOUR WATER !!
As your stomach and colon get used to “exercising” more to process (metabolize) and move this fibrous food through your digestive system, you will probably experience some cramping.
That’s normal.
It will diminish over time as you continue “priming your system” by eating more raw vegetables daily.
That’s why I suggest starting with smaller portions and increasing gradually.
(3) Incorporate raw vegetables into your DAILY diet, not every other day, or just a few times per week, but E V E R Y D A Y !!
This will help your body to adapt more quickly.
Just watch the changes that happen in your bathroom routine.
Regular daily bowel movements are both healthy AND desired….and not just once per day, but as many as 4 times per day !! (…and that’s a whole other post topic.)
So, if constipation has been your “normal”, then this will feel really good for you !!
(4) The vegetables that you see in the photo above have been purposely selected because of their alkaline quality and their “lightness”.
If we eat heavier vegetable types, such as carrots or beets (which would be similar to eating apples) before bed, these will have a tendency to cause more activity in the stomach and colon.
Greater activity in the stomach and colon, during the night, will (in all likelihood) cause nightmares and make for a restless night.
That’s the reason I stick with these “lighter”, easier to digest vegetables.
Also, the heavier root vegetables are laden with sugar.
NEWS FLASH: Carrots and Beets are high in sugar and can impede weight loss.
This depends on a couple of factors specifically related to the toxic burden and condition of certain internal organs.
And so, if you’re wondering why you aren’t losing weight and your regular daily diet is laden with high sugar fruits and vegetables, that’s probably one of the reasons.
